Infinite Cares is proud to announce that our cause for April is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), with a focus on their industry-specific outreach: Hike for Hope – Construction.
Construction workers have a significantly higher suicide rate than workers in other industries, which is why Infinite Cares is donating to this organization. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention organizes hikes across America in support of suicide prevention and mental health for construction workers through suicide prevention education, intervention and postvention strategies. These methods work through education and the empowerment of workers, which helps them speak up when help is needed.
AFSP encourages hikers to show their support and honor who they are hiking for through colored beads, with each color representing a group that is affected by suicide in the construction industry. This show of support encourages open discussion about such difficult topics and displays that there is a massive community ready to help anyone that needs it.
We also recognize the importance of our team’s diverse perspectives and passions. That’s why we encourage you to nominate causes for Infinite Cares. Your nomination could become our highlighted cause for May! We are dedicated to supporting the organizations that matter most to you, and by doing so, we believe we can make an even greater impact.
Want to nominate a cause? If you know an organization doing meaningful work, reach out to us at Contact us – Infinite Cares to share your nomination.
